Battery change / tag replacement

PriceTag tags typically have a 7–10 year battery (with updates that are not especially frequent) and a 3-year warranty per commercial terms. Replacement is rare compared with paper labels.

When to intervene

Replacement procedure (high level)

1. Identify the tag on the map (position / SKU).
2. Remove the tag from the mount.
3. Install the replacement tag.
4. Associate / activate the new tag to the item/position.
5. Send a trial update (proximity or remote).
6. Verify the shelf price within 60–80 s.
7. Dispose of or return the defective tag per PriceTag instructions.

Recommended stock

In the meantime: keep a small stock of tags and mounts after go-live, especially in high-traffic stores.
